Western Hemisphere Press
Western Hemisphere Press is an information provider dedicated to producing intelligent, enlightening, and entertaining books, ebooks, audio books, and related items. Our contact information, universal discount schedule, and returns policy statement are listed below.
We are a new company and are currently seeking talented writers. Please submit a query letter, a sample of your book (not to exceed 20 pages), an SASE, and a $35 reading fee in the form of a cheque made out to Western Hemisphere Press. Please see the address below. All submissions will be examined and a frank assessment of your writing (favourable or not) and book’s potential will be supplied. Writers accepted will receive a modest advance, royalties, international distribution, a marketing allowance, and their own web site. Please note that WHP only accepts books we think will have significant commercial appeal. We are presently open to all genres.

Western Hemisphere Press Book Return Authorization
1. WHP’s BOOKS ARE RETURNABLE. If a title isn’t moving in your market, we want to get it back before a new edition makes it obsolete. Thank you for giving it a chance on your valuable shelf space. Our return policy is normally between 90 days and 1 year of the publisher’s invoice date.
2. RETURN PERMISSION MUST BE REQUESTED so that we can issue detailed packing and shipping instructions. This is your authorization and please see the instructions below.
3. NOTICE OF SHORTAGE OR NONRECEIPT must be made within 15 days of the shipping/invoice date for Canadian and American shipments; 60 days for shipments to other countries.
4. BOOKS DAMAGED IN TRANSIT are not the responsibility of WHP. Please make claim to the carrier.
5. Returns must be accompanied by your packing slip listing quantity, title, author, original invoice number, and invoice date. Books returned with this information will be credited with 100% of the invoice price minus shipping. Otherwise, it will be assumed that the original discount was 60%. Remember: books should be returned to their source, e.g. a wholesaler.
6. ROUTING: ship books to Western Hemisphere Press, 125 Rothesay Avenue, PO Box 1401, Saint John, NB, Canada, E2L 4H8.
7. To apply for a refund, books must be returned in good, resaleable condition. Full stop. If they are not, or if you are unwilling to pack them correctly, please don’t bother. There are two points to remember when packing books: 1.) Keep them clean, i.e. place stacked books in a plastic bag, thus preventing contact with oily newsprint and greasy “peanuts.” 2.) Pack them tightly, i.e. cut a shipping carton to the right size and stuff it tightly with padding. Dirty/loose books = damaged books. You must ship via shipping cartons. Items not received in shipping cartons will be refused at the post office.
8. A credit memo will be issued toward future purchases.
9. Returning books = packaging, postage, time, money, and headache. A more cost-effective method of getting rid of books is to mark them down in price and make them visible to customers.
